Whenever we talk in the Indian context, the word destiny acquires indispensable importance. Right from our religious beliefs to the day to day activities that we indulge in, destiny always appears to the major factor for deciding our course of action. And this is where, we forget another very important teaching of the ancient times. Krishna, while advising Arjuna before the beginning of Mahabharata had stressed on the importance of the Karma. He had said that it is the effort that makes one what he or she is and destiny is too minor an aspect to be afraid of. What has to happen, will happen and we can only decide the fate of those events in terms of good or bad through our karma. This is the ultimate truth and has been proven so by numerous individuals and incidents alike. There is not an iota of doubt in the statement that destiny may be an important factor in our lives but the importance of destiny is minimal when the comparison is with the effort that every individual suppose to put in every time he or she takes up something as a task. Addressing the minute points of debate between fate and effort, the street play titled I do. Do I ? Destiny is karma in motion presented by DAV Public School, Dwarka tries to put some light on the negative results of relying on destiny only. The play emphasizes on the utmost importance that one needs to attach to his own efforts. It highlights that everything that happen is to be attributed to our talents as well as our nature and not just destiny.
