Please like and subscribe to jtgravityRC for more videos! Thanks! Cheers! Using Realflight Drone Simulator I have watched a lot of videos of FPV in acro but there are not many Line of Sight (LOS) acro videos. There is even less LOS acro tutorial videos or non-existence. I was very frustrated as I wanted to learn LOS acro but I couldn’t find proper tutorial videos. I then decided to learn LOS acro by using flight simulator and the first one I came across is FPV Freerider. I flew FPV for a while with it to get familiar with flying acro. Once I got used to it, I switched to LOS acro. It was very difficult to try to keep it in the air and to move it like you would do for stabilized mode. I used the same flying method as for stabilized mode and I crashed a lot in the simulator. After a while I was able to keep it in the air using a bit of stabilized mode method but it didn’t feel real in the simulator. I then decided to try it with micro quad that could acro namely Blade Nano QX. It is light enough and very forgiving in crashes. I tried flying it using the standard stabilized mode method. As in the simulator, I crashed a lot mainly because I lost orientation quickly and my mind was tuned to that flying method. What is it that makes LOS acro so difficult? I realized that when flying stabilized mode, the flight control board continuously stabilize your flying by making sure that your quad goes to level position and that ‘s why you can feel the pulling effect and that’s the reason you can easily forward flight in the direction that you want because you are assisted basically to fly in a line. I found that stabilized mode flying doesn’t work for LOS acro. Because it is full manual, as pilot you are taking over the function of the flight control board to stabilize your quad in acro; you need to do that by pulling the opposite direction all the time to stabilize it. It gets more difficult when you forward flying in a line because you are not behind the quad and it is difficult to stabilize it if you can’t see the quad from behind and as it gets further away from you it is even harder. I kept trying with the Blade Nano Qx and by accident, I yawed it and suddenly I was able to feel the quad and was able to control it. So I made small movements to all directions and pulling back to level position and then yawing it and I was able to make movements around and was able to keep it in the air for extended period of time. Flying LOS acro requires a different concept and I am going to make a series of LOS acro tutorial videos to give instructions on that as flying LOS acro is fun and I would like to share it with you. Enjoy! ☺ Please learn on simulator and then with micro quad. I am making these videos using PhoenixRC simulator. I am using my Taranis X9D.
