The Queen’s Birthday Parade was held to celebrate the official birthday of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on Saturday 8 June 2019 at the Royal Military College – Duntroon. The parade was a ceremonial “Trooping of the Queen’s Colour”, conducted by the Corps of Staff Cadets (CSC) of the Royal Military College – Duntroon. In attendance, were the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove, AK MC (Retd) and Lieutenant General Rick Burr, AO, DSC, MVO, Chief of Army. The “Trooping the Colour” ceremony dates back to the 16th Century when, each evening, the Regiment’s Colour was escorted through the ranks of troops to ensure that soldiers would be able to recognise their Colour on the battlefield.
