Framing and some finish 29lbs it was effortless to carry the cordless miter saw in from the truck then down the stairs to the basement. As for cutting that day, it never skipping a beat the 36V brushless motor plowed though all the 2x framing we threw at it. Switch from framing to finish trim. I rotated the saw left and right with using the positive stops at 45 degrees. Trimmed out an interior door and window with 3 ½” colonial casing. perfect tight miters Improvements: LED light to illuminate the blade area. vertical vise mount to far forward. saw will not run unless you have 2 batteries connected. [reduces storage foot print] Overall Impression: If you are already on the Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion platform then this cordless miter saw would be a great addition. Being able to cut the cord, setup and tackle a punch list or project for the day on a single battery charge is impressive. I recommend taking a look at this saw if you are a mobile contractor or anyone else that is looking for a powerful, compact cordless miter saw with great cutting capacity.
