President of the European Council Donald Tusk says that European countries have once again faced with evil, as was the case on the eve of World War II, but he says he is convinced that Europe will be able to act differently this time. He announced this in Gdansk, Poland, on May 7, 2015, during political discussions about what lessons have been learnt from World War II. The May 7 conference "The Legacy of World War II 70 Years Later", held on the eve of Victory in Europe Day, was attended by the heads of state of Croatia, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, European Council President Donald Tusk, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and senior representatives of the governments and parliaments of several European countries.
