N64 Sherbet Land World Record 2'05"417*
Welcome guys. Let me take you into a world of bad luck, pain, and somehow some satisfaction as well. I guess you all know the history: It was my first WR, but I didnt have wifi by then. I came back a few months ago, beating it, losing it, then suddenly beating it by 17 (remember that number). It stood for a while, until Zanz beat it, up to 582 (remember that as well, hehe). Not a real pain, because I knew I could go further, as my 623 didnt take that long. I decided to wait a while because it was his only WR, and because I respect him as well. Well, respect, he has a few flap WRs without proof, so actually, I dont really like him. But OK, where were we, I respected him and I think 2 weeks is very nice. Then, the moment of the great comeback. How long would it take to take it back? 2-3 hours? I opened my live stream, and I was shocked: 30 people! Loads of Japs were looking as well, including ex-WR holder Bl@ck. It took a while to get my usual level back, but I began to hit nice splits. I had a great run, about 42, when I crashed in the cave part. I had a 3 run, where I crashed at the last corner.. I cant tell you how many times I crashed at the last corners. If Mick or Tim read this, write a bit about that and Ill put it here. After 10 (!) hours of playing, I got a great run, this time, I crashed at the last corner, but I could continue The time? 205584, 002 (2 thousands!) behind Zanz. I was very, very pissed and continued next day. After an hour or two, whadda you think? 205583. 001 behind. Just a few runs after that beat it to 568, WR! But, but I missed a wheelie in the cave part, and that cost me about 2. If you calculate last lap safety as well, that wouldve been about 400. The run directly after that, I had a great 42 run, but crashed at the two last corners in an already weak last lap, which resulted in a 4200 lap, and the final time was 559 (ghost in live vid)! And thats how I ended the day. The next day, I decided to give it one last go. I didnt open the live stream because my keyboard was broke. I was able to record this. A few crashed runs, and then, after an hour, this run. Id like to tell you what this track really is like. Not just to explain what can go wrong, but also for strat help. The first corner should be taken the same way as the last one. The trick is to drive over the gaps, but just not enough to fall in the water. In order to remove that chance, you can go to the right a bit more before the corner. This isnt a problem at the first lap, but of course, you can overdo it as well. Two huge new problems are that the last lap. At the first corner, you have to go over it in a flat way, because otherwise, the chance to hit a penguin is very high (luck this time, but I crash 50% of my runs there). If you take it too safe, you might fall in. At the end, positioning is hard because of the part where you have to go between the wheelie and the wall, and,, yes, because of the penguins at the last corner. Here, you may not make a jump a
