Opening the python's door with my 4 year old daughter. 10ft python behaves nonchalant as usual. HD

There is no set or absolute method of picking up large constrictors. Some people use the hook - tap train. I prefer not to. The end game is obviously not to have a creature lunge and bite when the door is opened. Last year, my daughter has been wanting to learn how I pickup my pythons. I have been showing her and instructing how presentation of yourself and daily positive interactions is key. Both my Reticulated pythons are calm and gentle when the cage door is opened and we wish to interact/handle them. The only exception to this is on feeding day and they pickup the smell of rats. The result is zero bites, no defensive behaviour and no hook needed when getting them out. When it comes to adding children into the equation, if they do not have the understanding to be slow, gentle and take direction DO NOT allow them to interact with any animal. Abusive comments will be deleted and possibly laughed at. This video is being managed exclusively by Newsflare.
