This is the Sony WH1000MX3. Sony’s latest and greatest noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones. This pair is supposed to be the best noise cancelling pair of cans for 350 dollars. Has this segment changed much within the last few years? Let’s find out with a little review. Amazon Affiliate Link: Sony WH-1000XM3: https://amzn.to/2RBw0xt To start off it comes with a case, the headphones, a short, tiny, usb a to usb c cable, a 3.5mm headphone cable, and an airplane adapter. Do airplanes still use these? Anyway, when you look at the hard-carrying pouch it has nice fleece-lined compartments for everything, has a textured exterior and a pouch. For like, I don’t know, your dongle? The headphones themselves look really nice, probably the best looking in all of the 1000x iterations in my opinion and is made out of plastic. Woah woah. Plastic? This thing is $350! Well, it’s very soft plastic and feels nice to touch with your fingers. Trust me, it feels premium. The ear cups swivel a little over 90 degrees so it can fit in the case, and the earcups and headband have plush leather. Now onto tech features, the headphones allow NFC pairing, a headphone jack, a USB-C charging port, and a touch-sensitive right ear cup to activate specific functionalities, like turning on ambient noise by putting your hand over it. It’s a minor design change over last year’s WH1000XM2 but overall, presentation of the headphones is top notch. No complaints here. Then onto what you’re really here for. Sound Quality. Just a heads up, I only have one pair of headphones to compare it to. The original Sony Noise cancelling headphones. Nope not that, actually something a year older than that. The Sony H.Ear On Wireless NC headphones. The sound on the XM3s are just plain better, if I were to describe them, I would say…… The difference in comfort between the two is night and day, the 1000XM3s are more comfortable on the top of the head, and the ears don’t have as much pressure or heat. I can see this being worn for a long period of time. That’s not to say, I still slept on a long flight with the H.Ear on’s and those worked fine too, you’ll just be more comfortable with the XM3s. But see, the XM3 also comes with a couple of comfort features, like 3 different sound modes, NC on, NC off, and ambient noise mode, which uses the mic on the headphones to amplify the outside noise so you can hear them better when using the headphones. It’s pretty cool. You can use the right ear cup to change volume, skip tracks, play, pause, and cup the whole thing to activate ambient noise mode, super useful if someone tries talking to you and you’re too busy jamming out. With mixed usage, these things last me over a week, I’d say about, or a little over 20 hours of listening. The app, is really cool and unlock a lot of different features, that if I go into would make this video over 10 minutes long. But some of the best are its ability to control the level of noise canceling you want, equalizer settings to
