Vanessa Davis & the Whiskey Jacks - I'm Doing OK HD

Vanessa Davis is a Canadian-born singer-songwriter who has lived in Lexington Kentucky since 2005. Raised by a Classical music teacher (mother) and a jazz musician (father), she began performing at the ripe old age of 2. Her formal musical studies began in her elementary years, through the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, a Nationally Acclaimed music program in Canada. Through the RCM, Vanessa completed many examination levels in Piano, Singing, and Theory, receiving the medal for the highest provincial mark in Singing 5 times. She also grew up competing in local music festival competitions, going on to win two classes (Musical Theatre and French Art Song) at the Provincial level during her last competitive year. Although classically trained, Vanessa’s first love is performing original songs with her guitar. To date, she has written over 150 songs in genres including pop, blues, jazz, folk, country, bluegrass, and classical composition. Vanessa enjoys playing at local Lexington hangouts such as The Twisted Cork, Ranada’s, and Al’s Bar. Vanessa is a six-time nominee for the Lexington Music Awards, and was thrilled to receive the Award for Best Pop in January 2019.
