'Obscenity lies in the eyes of the beholder': Kerala High Court on Grihalakshmi breastfeeding cover HD

In February 2018, a photograph of model-actor, Gilu Joseph breastfeeding a child on the cover of ‘Grihalakshmi’ magazine created a flutter in Kerala. While it earned the support of a large section of people. It also angered many others. A writ petition was filed by Felix MA, the bench of former chief justice Antony Dominic and Dama Seshadri Naidu. But the Kerala High Court dismissed this petition and refused to identify this photograph as ‘obscene’. The court iterated that the petition failed to convince that the publishers of the magazine had committed any offence.
