Some Buntu Based Distro's Not Playing The Game.. HD

Well this evening i had earmarked to install a new OS on my workhorse machine, which as a lot of you know is an Intel I-7 5960x, well when it came to trying to get it to load it not want to play with Xubuntu or Lubuntu, but other derivatives worked just fine, so what is the problem..???
