Full Savage Grace set Live at the Grande '68 - Part Three
This is (as best as I can remember) a complete set by Savage Grace, recorded live at the Grande Ballroom in 1968. They may not all be from the same date, as the band played the Grande several times and Im sure someone will correct me about the running order if its not spot on, but then again, they did change it around often. Its all here. warts and all... over an hour of the best band that ever came out of Detroit - IMHO.A special thanks to the skills of Jeffrey M. Jones who managed to get this good an audio mix out of the limited Grande house P.A. system with augmentation from the bands own equipment in that cavernous hall, back in 68....Any major flaws in these recordings are to be blamed on my own lack of ability, concentration, adequate equipment and (occasionally) sobriety.I have added, at the end, the title track to the latest Savage Grace CD release One night in America which is available from Amazing Music or from iTunes..so,Roll one up, take a swig from that Boones Farm bottle.. light an incense stick, lay on the floor and CRANK IT.Due to the fact that I cant figure out how to load the entire set at once.... (it keeps freezing at 95) - I have to load it in segments.HeresPart One01 Season of the witch02 Come On Downcan be found herePart Two04 Turn your head05 Shapes of thingsPart Three06 Lady Rain07 Night of the HunterPart Four08 Hymn to freedom09 Tinboyand Part Five10 Doors Away11 Sundown12 Watchtower (Really live - not Fields demo tape)PlusOne Night In Americaand, for those interested, theres a nice Savage Grace interview by Debbie Burr from Creem 1970 to be found here
