Rockschool Hot Rock Guitar Grade 2 – Oasis "Supersonic” HD

An electric guitar play through of graded piece - "Supersonic" by Oasis. This is from the Rockschool Hot Rock Guitar Syllabus, out of the Grade 2 book. A great piece for beginner/intermediate guitarists looking to develop classic rock style of playing. “Supersonic” is quite a diverse piece of music which quite a few different sections. It first of all starts with a picked chord pattern which requires accuracy to make sure you pluck the correct strings. During the verse riff, palm muting is essential to keep the riff sounding neat and to make sure it chugs along evenly and locks in with the other instruments on the backing track. This piece also features a nice short solo. It’s a catchy solo so the phrasing is relatively easy to memorise and learn. Watch out for the string bends though, as it’s easy to bend sharp resulting in an out of tune bend. This is a fun piece to play and would benefit a guitarist looking to improve numerous aspects of their playing mainly within the rock style of playing and technique.
