Tension Erupted: Tests of NATO troops in Lithuania amid Russia's attack on Ukraine
One of Lithuania’s largest military exercises is underway, gathering nine NATO Allies, namely Belgium, Czechia, Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States, for intense training at Pabrade Training Ground from 17 to 30 October 2022. The exercise, which involves more than 3,500 troops, tests the ability of the Lithuanian Army’s Iron Wolf Brigade to carry out defensive operations and counter-attacks. NATO’s German-led multinational battlegroup based in Lithuania is participating, as is a US Army battalion assigned to Lithuania on a rotational basis. The Distinguished Visitors (DV) day of the exercise was attended by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda and King Philippe of Belgium. Footage includes various shots of Belgian troops in armoured vehicles practising manoeuvres alongside German tanks, and Lithuanian troops.
