I moved here in November 1995. - How much money do I need to live there? How long is a piece of string? How much you will need depends on a variety of factors: how much you have saved, your monthly income, age, visa type, whether you are single, married, married with children, healthy, sickly and whether you are frugal or wasteful. Easy. - Is it true I can live there off $500 a month? Don’t count on moving here and living off $500 a month for the rest of your life. In some cases it might be possible, but you’ll need to live a spartan existence and know the ropes. - I want to move to Thailand. Can you find me a job there? - Absolutely not, you’re on your own. Find a job before you move here. Jobs are hard to find and getting harder to find, especially without a specialized skill. Otherwise, make sure you have enough money to last a few months, or a few years, until you find work. - What job would you recommend I try to get in Thailand? This depends on your skills and education. For most, teaching English is the easiest job to find. - Are Thai women as sweet and wonderful as I think? Some are, but women are women.
