Teza Excerpt: Cassandra's warning on racism and raising mixed children.
A powerful scene from 2008 Ethiopian film, Teza (Morning Dew) by Haile Gerima. Tesfaye (Abeye Tedla), and Gabi, his German girlfriend (Veronika Avraham) announce that Gabi is with child. Cassandra(Araba Evelyn Johnston-Arthur), a German of mixed ancestry, warns that great care must be taken to raise a black child in Europe. Later, in the wake of the Ethiopian revolution, Tesfaye, leaves his son, Theodros, behind in Germany. Theodros will be subjected to racism and later dream of reuniting with his African heritage.
