Kyle O’Quin likes cannabis…a lot. Kyle O’Quin is the keyboard player in the Grammy Award winning band Portugal. The Man. He has toured all over the world playing thousands of shows for millions of people. He has smoked weed on 6 continents and spent countless hours playing his piano for nobody but himself. The only thing that surpassed Kyle’s love of Marijuana is his love of music. Never formally trained, Kyle buried himself in music at a young age. It was his language. He taught himself how to play and studied the greats Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, and The Beatles. Once he came of “age” Kyle realized there a connection between the high he was getting from Classical music as well as the marijuana. Lookout, if Kyle cornered you after a show or at a party, he would regal you in a grad school like dissertation on the connection. Fast forward a couple years and all those late-night conversations turned into a cohesive comprehensible show called Higher Education. Higher Education is a performance meant to be consumed by your ears, your eyes, and your lungs. Usually broken into 2 acts, an indica and sativa set, your host, Kyle takes you on a musical journey about classical music and how it intertwines with modern music and most importantly marijuana.
