Stand Up Paddle Board Tarpon HD

Had been fishing for 2 days with no success. Time after time the Tarpon would launch itself and spit my hook out. Finally on the third day I was ready for my luck to change. I paddled at and worked my spoons and top water jigs for a couple hours. Had one bight on the spoon and the beast spit it out again. Undeterred I paddled to a spot about 100 yards off shore and used a 5/0 hook and rigged a bait mullet right behind the dorsal fin. I opened the bail to let the fish out and within 15 seconds and before I could set the bail I had a strike. When I did close the bail and set the hook, I was dragged to my knees and the fight was on. I watched as the condos got smaller and smaller and actually thought about cutting my line because during the 45 minute battle I had never been that far out to sea on my SUP. About 2-5 minutes after thinking about cutting the line, I made progress and could tell the fish was tired. I kept reeling in and then the very top of my rod snapped, but I was sitll able to reel in. Finally got the fish next to the board, and tried to get him on, but he weighed way too much.
