Ֆիլմը պատմում է մի հովվի մասին, որը միայնակ մարդ է Գառնի գյուղում և ընդհանրապես աշխարհում` մերժված գյուղացիների ու հարազատ ընտանիքի կողմից: Ընտանիքը լքել է նրան, որովհետև Վարդան հովիվը չի ցանկացել վաճառել իր մոտ 5 տասնյակ այծերը` ավելի բարեկեցիկ ապրելու համար: Հովիվը պատմում է, որ ինքը միշտ էլ գյուղացիների համար առասպելների աղբյուր է եղել. ոչ ոք չի հավատացել, որ գիշերօթիկում մեծացած երեխան կարող է լավ տիրապետել մաթեմատիկային և ընդունվել Երևանի պետական համալսարանի մեխանիկայի ֆակուլտետ: Գյուղացիների համար առասպելական, բայց Վարդանի համար սովորական է իր այծերի հետ մարդկային լեզվով զրուցելը, նրանց մարդկանց անուններով դիմելը. ինչպես Վարդանն է ասում, այծերն իր համար երեխաներ են: ՙԷհաա~....՚,- այսպես է կանչում Վարդանը նրանց: Այսպիսով, ֆիլմի ընթացքում ներկայացվում է մի մարդ, որն ընտրել է բնության հետ ներդաշնակ ապրելու ձևը: Թվում է` նա դժբախտ է, քանի որ ընդունված չէ մարդկանց կողմից, բայց արի ու տես, որ սարերում ունի ևս մի ընկեր, որն իր կյանքը նվիրել է այլ կենդանիների` մեղուներին: Մեղվապահը ամբողջացնում է հովվի կերպարը` ասելով, որ շատ բաներ է սովորում ընկերոջից: Վարդանի մասին էլ ասում է. ՙՆրան պարզապես թևեր պետք է տային, չտվեցին՚: Բայց երբ Վարդանը նորից անհետանում է սարերում իր կենդանիների հետ, հասկանում ես, որ հենց այծերն ու բնությունն են մարդկանց փոխարեն նրան թևեր պարգևել: 2009թ, Հայաստան 16 րոպե Գառնիի «Արևորդի» էկոակումբ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The film is about a herdsman who lives in Garni and feels quite lonely not only in his village but in the whole world as he is rejected by the villagers and his own family. The family left him because the herdsman, Vardan, didn’t want to sell about 5 dozen of his goats to provide them a better life. The herdsman says that he has always been an object for myth for his villagers. None of them believed that someone who was brought up in a boarding school can know mathematics well, or graduate from the faculty of mechanics in Yerevan State University. If it is weird to the villagers, it is quite normal for Vardan to speak to his goats in human language, calling them human names, as Vardan says goats are like children for him. “Well....” that’s how he’s calling out for them. So the film features someone who has preferred to live in harmony with his goats and the nature. He seems to be an unhappy person because he’s an outcast, but he is not the only one, he’s got a friend living in the mountains, fully devoted to bees. The bee-keeper adds to the image of the herdsman saying that he is learning many things from his friend. About Vardan he says, “He was to be given wings to fly, but he never got them’’. Yet once he disappears in the mountains with his animals in the nature, one realises that it is the goats and the nature that are giving him wings to fly instead of humans.
