Dragon Age: Inquisition Iron Bull Build (with Kitty's Collar) HD
This is a field test of the build I use for AI controlled Iron Bull. I like to call it “The Mad Bull” build. The test featured in this video took place in the Western Approach. I want to thank Dragon Age community on Reddit for suggesting me this is one of the best places to test new builds. Iron Bulls is wearing a crafted Superior Battlemaster Armor and he wields a crafted Axe of Dragon Hunter. I have to craft them with better stats: specifically I want to change some of the bonuses. Feedback and comments are very appreciated :) _ One of the first things I learned about Iron Bull is on Nightmare he gets knocked out very often (the game’s AI is not very proficient at managing Two Handed warriors, especially Reavers). So as I was looking for a way to keep him in he melee longer (trying to create an unconventional/personal build in the process) I came up with a crazy idea and it sounded a fun one as well. Instead of trying to increase his resistance to damage I followed the old saying “it does not matter how many times you get knocked down but how many times you stand up” and here comes the core and inspiration of this build: Kitty’s Collar. This curious amulet (it echoes back to the very Dragon Age: Origins) gives its wearer a -100% Damage Resistance but compensates it with three buffs: Guardian Spirit: Block one melee attack every 30 Seconds On Dying: 75% chance to heal for half health Resist a lethal strike once every 60 seconds When I found the amulet (it can be looted during Assault on Griffon Wing quest in the Western Approach) I had the idea of this daring, high risk fighting style I consider fitting Iron Bull’s behavior. Few notes: 1- Inquisition AI is not good at managing Reaver builds. In fact many veteran players prefers to not invest many points there for Iron Bull. I wanted to go “full Reaver” for story purposes. 2- I don’t know if anyone had the same idea to put Kitty’s Collar on Iron Bull. I never run into a build like this but if someone already did something similar, I didn’t copy them without giving credit lol: we just had the same idea. I made this build without even asking for advices: right or wrong I wanted to create some build on my own. 3- Most of the items used during this test are far from optimal. I should craft better armor and weapon. The schematic are the right ones but I should craft them for more balanced bonuses. 4- You may have noticed I had to revive Iron Bull twice. While at first it may looks like a failure of the build, consider the conditions were very unfavorable to Iron Bull and beside in a “real” battle context he doesn’t have to solo the enemies: he fights with a party and, in my case, to support a DPS Inquisitor. 5- Like I already mentioned this a high risk build: statistically one out of four times Iron Bull stays down. However as you can see in the video this build can keep up a fight. Combine it with a party (or even just a powerful Inquisitor) and the “Mad Bull” can nicely support t
