What is Slack and How to Use This App Slack is an app for teams. It organizes team conversations in private channels, threads and direct messages. Slack app is useful when you are working in teams and want all the communications in a neat and clean interface. Essentially what slack does is that it replaces the email platforms by providing a single communication channel. You can download the free version and it will be enough if you have a small team of people. When you open a Slack account you create a workspace,. This workspace has two main parts, the first are slack channels and the second are direct messages. You invite your team members to your workspace and by default they join all the available channels. However team members can leave any channel except the general channel which no one can leave.
