Starting off with build quality both monitors are built well, with the Dell taking the lead. The stand and screen mount is very solid compared to the LG which has a tendency to wobble back and forth if your desk moves. The LG also has an issue where it can possibly tip over in certain cases, especially if tilted downwards. The Dell on the other hand holds its ground. The Dell is superior in terms of display adjustments. You can adjust height, pivot (rotation), swivel, and tilt, whereas as the LG can only adjust tilt. The Dell can even tilt further than the LG. The best part about the Dell’s stand is that you can actually rotate the monitor 90 degrees which can be a selling point for some. The Dell also includes a very useful mechanism for removing the stand when need be. Which on the LG it’s screwed in and completely solid, I even had trouble popping the screw cover off because of the glossy plastic. Now let’s talk about design. In my opinion the LG looks a lot cleaner and sharper. The bezel looks ultra thin, although there is a visible gap between the edge of the pixels and the bezel when you turn the monitor on. The Dell on the other hand, has a much larger bezel. The front of the LG’s stand also looks very clean and seems to be brushed aluminum painted black. The whole rear of the LG is gloss black including the back of the stand, looks nice but attracts dust and fingerprints. The Dell sports matte gray plastic all around with an aluminum-looking bezel and stand. The Dell makes it easy to hide your cables with an included port through the stand, and a port cover on the back. The LG also has a little plastic loop that clips onto the back of the stand which works surprisingly well at hiding cables. The Dell’s screen does sit a bit closer to you thanks to the versatile stand, which can be an downside depending on your preferences.
