This is Vox Gabrieli, by Stjepan Šulek, played in the Orpheus brass competition (1st prize), performed by James and Paul Cozens in March, 2016. This intense but beautiful music is the voice of the archangel Gabriel, presiding over the end of the world! In Biblical traditions Gabriel is sometimes regarded as the angel of death, the prince of fire thunder and as the messenger of God. In this dramatic music, you can hear the different depictions of Gabriel, at times peaceful and at times frighteningly powerful! I hope you enjoy!
