MBCluster - Mercedes SL R129 Removabe Soft Top Module RST Functional Demonstration Roof Controller

The convertible Mercedes roadster, R129 body, has a central electronic module which controls the soft top operation, known as the RST. The RST also has control of the power windows, and the roll bar manual movement, and sends and receives signals from around the vehicle. The microswitches tell the module where the roof is precisely located, and what functions are require for opening and closing. Quite often the roof has issues with opening and closing, and it usually traces down to a microswitch issue which is failing to send the right signal. Knowing which microswitches are needed at specific times allows you to debug your soft top issues quickly.
