In this video, we’ll talk about the step by step process to buy and sell a car for profit since a lot of people are confused with these steps. Ok, so the first thing you want to do is keep your eyes open for opportunity. Ask around for used cars, keep a look out on the streets as you may see “For Sale” signs on cars and don’t forget that people still post ads on newspapers. Lastly, check online classifieds like Craigslist, Kijiji, Gumtree and other classified ads on the internet. Make it a habit to scour those sites out daily so you can learn what the market has to offer you and learn what the cars are going for. If you have an idea of a car’s price range, you’d know a good deal if you see one. It’s also important to keep a Blue Book as well. It’s nice to have the app but I like to keep the physical version of it with me since it’s a lot quicker to search through ads. Once you’ve closed a deal, you need to spruce up the car. When I started buying and selling cars fifteen years ago, I invested in cars that I liked a lot and not what people commonly look for. So, don’t get too emotional and buy cars because you want it. Buy it because it’s a good deal and because you know you can flip it for profit. Another tip is you don’t have to get cars that need a lot of work. You can actually get cars that don’t need too much work and still make a great profit. That’s the paradigm shift that I had. I realized that I can just get cars that need a light detail or something minor to it that I can tweak. Of course, you have to pay a little more for these cars but you’ll spend less time and work to it and get the same amount of investment or more. But, you also need to remember that you need to be able to spruce up and fix the things that need to be fixed on the cars that you buy so you’ll be able to sell them for profit. It’s either auto body and paint, mechanical work or just basic overall dressing up and detailing like buffing, cleaning the carpets or taking the seats out to power wash them down. It is an advantage to know about auto body so you can do it yourself although you don’t have to. Some people buy from private party or auctions that get good deals and pay someone to fix it up and they still make a profit. Once you’re ready to sell, the next step is to advertise. A lot of people make mistakes in advertising because they don’t how to get ads that convert. You have to create ads that will make people call to buy your car. Then, you have to post your ad.
