Lightning Strikes with Ford’s Electric F-150 HD
Before any tax incentives, contractors can look at the electric Ford F-150 Lightning Pro for under $40,000, almost at parity with its gasoline counterpart crew cab 4x4. Powered by a battery system, there are two options with the base battery holding a 230-mile range, and the 300-mile extended range package. As shown in this video footage provided by Ford, like its IC counterparts, the F-150 Lightning has Ford’s Pro Power Onboard generator and multiple outlet locations in both the front and back of the truck to power generators and other equipment or charge another electric vehicle. In addition, a unique feature of the Lightning Pro is what Ford calls the mega power frunk, a safe, lockable storage space to protect tools and technology.
