[Hindi] What is True Spirituality? | असली अध्यात्म क्या है? (by Sirshree)
The word Spirituality has become corrupted over time. One of the reasons for that to happen is because of the words used to describe spirituality. The interpretation of words change over a period of time and therefore the meaning of the word gets twisted or people most often take literal meaning of the words instead of the figurative meaning that was intended. People do not hear what is being truly said, instead they hear either what they want to hear or to the twisted meaning of the words. This has been happening for centuries. However, in every era, it gets revived and an attempt is made to understand and explain true meaning of the words that help us understand true spirituality. It is the intent of the words, not the literal meaning of the language that brings results. People have formed opinions and assumptions based on the visuals without understanding the intention behind the actions. A surgeon and a murderer - both use a knife. One uses a knife to take life and the other to give back life. The action is same, but the intent is different. Understanding the intent will help see the true purpose or meaning of the action or the words. People tend to see things without the right understanding, and conclude there is no GOD that would allow such things to happen. They become Atheists without fully ascertaining their understanding of their thoughts, feelings and the worldview they harbor. People either turn atheists or faithful to GOD depending on the responses to their prayers and wishes. Both kind of people have incomplete knowledge. People place their faith and belief on the Mind and not on the Truth. Until the faith shifts to the Truth, one lives in an illusion. Those who experienced the Truth centuries ago, wanted to share the experience with everyone through parables, rituals, idols, pictures, paintings, hymns, proverbs, mythological stories, and other such means that would make it easier for people to understand. However, with time the mediums became more prominent than the meaning they were trying to communicate. People engross themselves either in the visual details of the idols or the literal meaning of the words used in hymns, instead of focusing on the true meaning or intent. All these mediums were invented to transfer the qualities of Truth into the devotees.Every medium whether it was an idol, a painting, a hymn, became medium of expression of the Truth that Creators of these hymns, paintings and pictures were experiencing. These were their natural or intuitive ways of expressing what they were experiencing. Hundreds of thousands of parables, stories, songs, idols, paintings across different parts of the world over centuries signify the thousands of qualities of Truth that needed to be expressed in several different forms by several such Self-realized souls. In Hinduism, the idols of the Lord Shiva, Ganesha, Krishna and million other such idols were created to explain different aspects of self-experience and qualities of the Creat
