Nickelodeon Split-Screen Credits Compilation March 7th, 2009 (RECREATION ATTEMPT; READ DESC)

Note: THIS IS A RECREATION. THE FOOTAGE YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE IS ENTIRELY HAND-RECREATED. THIS IS NOT REAL AND IT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN THAT WAY. So, I’ve been getting into Nickelodeon recently and one thing I was intrigued about the network was its use of split-screen credits. Sure, many people can point out its flaws, but I still loved the design language they used for the templates at the time. One of my personal favorite eras was the 2006-2009 split screen credits design. It had a unique font for the credits text and the backgrounds were creative and interchangeable, which made it a significant improvement over the 2000 abstract design. During its three-year run, there were a couple of split screen credits that were lost; partially found (Some were found recently; others were found on Nicktoons Network). I recreated split screen credits from the date of Saturday March 7, 2009 at 6:00 AM-7:00AM which featured a MLAATR episode premiere and a Danny Phantom rerun. These shows were featured first on Nickelodeon’s schedule for that date. The reason why I recreated them was because footage for it were lost media and haven’t been uploaded to general public. (Some Danny Phantom split screen credits were found luckily.) HOW I RECREATED IT Believe this or not, I recreated this entirely on an iPad. I recreated it by repainting a portion of the Nickelodeon split screen credits template from November 2008-September 2009 using ibisPaintX. I would later then add text to the template using a downloaded font of Interstate Regular (A font Nickelodeon must have used for their split screen credits.) I would save the pictures as a PNG and then later import them to FlipaClip to make them move. I would save the video and then render and edit them to iMovie. I would add a Penguins of Madagascar premiere promo to make it more accurate. For the production logos, I would use ibisPaintX to make the Copyright text. I used a download font of Frutiger Bold Italic for the byline. (A font Nickelodeon must’ve used for their production logos at the time.) For the year text, I used the Segoe UI semibold font. The copyright symbol was hand-recreated. I would save them as a transparent PNG and then use it as a screen bug for the Nickelodeon Productions logo. I also downscaled it to 480p to make it look like DVD quality. However, the video is not completely accurate. The information for the credits may be incorrect due to lack of information about the episodes on the internet. The final frame of the credits also freeze to extend the time of the promo. And the UP NEXT banners are completely motionless. I blame my software editor for not slowing it down as much as I expected. However, it is a recreation. Not meant to be taken real as I said before.
