The Springs Fire in Ventura County, California has burnt over 28,000 acres and is mostly contained. Cooling temperatures and increased humidity have helped firefighters surround the once out of control wildfire. The blaze has damaged 15 homes and several commercial structures. As you can see from the photos and video taken Friday, May 3 around the early evening hours near 1400 W Potrero Rd, the fire showed no signs of slowing down as it made its way through Hidden Valley near Lake Sherwood. In these particular images (and video), the fire is burning down a mountain between Newbury Park and Westlake Village on Potrero Rd in Hidden Valley. As you can see, the Ventura County Fire Department hand crew is working its way up the mountain as a helicopter works to provide aerial support by dumping water on the flames. In this video, the fire is approaching celebrity homes owned by Jamie Foxx and Tom Selleck. With rain on the way and the fire over 2/3rds contained, firefighters have shown a positive outlook for full containment by early Monday morning on May 6, 2013.
