Super easy whole roast chicken from The Co-operative Food The chicken is marinated in spices - there are different varieties to choose from. You don’t have to touch the chicken, which is more hygienic than handling raw chicken – and this means that it will stop any bacteria from spreading Use a roasting dish, and put the whole bag into the dish The packet tells you how long to cook it for – this one will take 1 hour and 45 minutes. Just put the whole thing straight into the oven at 190 degrees C. You can roast other vegetables, like potatoes while the chicken is cooking. Potatoes are a good choice as they need about an hour to roast 20 minutes before the cooking time is up, remove chicken from the oven, snip open the bag to allow the chicken to brown and place it back in the oven for the last 20 minutes. To check that the chicken is cooked, poke it with a skewer and if the juices run clear, then you’re all done.
