Gunmen shoot up Airbnb used for Halloween house party north of Toronto HD

York Regional Police released video after a flurry shots were fired at a house rented out on a short-term rental for a house party in a residential neighborhood in Vaughan, north of Toronto. On Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, shortly before 2 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on Cannes Ave. for a report of sound of gunshots. When officers arrived they found a vehicle with bullet holes in it at a residence being used as a short-term rental. No one was physically injured. The investigation has revealed that at approximately 1:30 a.m., there were multiple people shooting guns. A portion of the incident was captured on residential video surveillance and shows three men in a four-door white sedan. Two men got out of the vehicle and fired more than 20 gunshots down the street. A third man exited the vehicle from the passenger side and got into the driver’s seat. After the shooting, the suspects got back into the vehicle and drove away. “It’s amazing that no one was injured or killed given the number of shots that were recklessly fired in this otherwise quiet neighborhood,” said Chief Eric Jolliffe. “We continue to see that there are people using short-term rental houses for parties and their guests are bringing handguns and violence into York Region. Those choosing to illegally use guns will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.” Suspect Vehicle is a four-door white sedan.
