The Low Pressure Area (LPA, Invest 93W) was estimated based on all available data at 330 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (8.7°N, 129.3°E, as of 3 AM today, May 30, 2022, Monday). According to the forecast models, it has 5%-20% (very low to low) chance to become a tropical cyclone within the next 2-5 days. It currently affects Visayas and Mindanao; which brings cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms with possible impact of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon or habagat affect the western section of Luzon, which brings partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated to scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the Metro Manila and the rest of the country is currently experiencing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms with possible impact of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. La Niña Update 2021-2022 (by PAGASA): La Niña has slightly strengthened and is likely to continue until the June-August 2022 season (59% chance), with a 50-55% chance of La Niña to continue thereafter.
