WASHINGTON DC - Among the holy grails of cosmological physics is proof of the existence of gravitational waves, faint and tiny ripples on the sea of space that were theorized by Albert Einstein and mathematically deduced but never scientifically observed. Scientists hold a news conference at the National Press Club to reveal the results of ground-based observations of the merger of two black holes, which may have yielded the best evidence yet on the existence of the waves.
