dc campus goes Sumatra HD
At Dalla Corte, education is the key to sustainable development in the coffee industry. That is why we support the Orang Utan Coffee Project by helping farmers expand their knowledge about coffee to lay the foundation for sustainable coffee cultivation. In addition to improving their current living conditions, the farmers and their families also benefit from long-term perspectives. We provided several machines for the Orang Utan Coffee Lab in Medan for this purpose, and also organised and ran additional on-site workshops with our coffee specialists, the dc coffee pros. The week-long dc campus goes Sumatra event will be held from 24th of April until 3rd of May 2015 at Ecolodge Bukit Lawang, which is west of Medan and borders the tropical rainforest in Leuser National Park. The itinerary includes seminars on the topics of “environmentally sustainable coffee cultivation”, “green business models” and “climate change caused by global warming”, as well as rainforest hikes and plantation visits.
