DRILL TO INCREASE YOUR CLUB SPEED AND GAIN DISTANCE HD
This is a clip from a lesson this week for a golfer who wants to GAIN CLUB SPEED. We discussed concepts here that faster players do really well from setup to mid backswing, more specifically from P1 to P3. Visuals of the drill are slightly exaggerated but the ideas are crucial to set the tone for the rest of the swing. Some commonalities among longer hitters - A few inches of pelvic sway early in the backswing. See Rory for examples of this - Pressure maxed out onto the trail side by P3 (lead arm parallel) in the backswing - Wide arc to the arm structure - A re-centering of the body’s mass and pressure from P3 to P4, also known as the top of the backswing There’s lots of into on the internet about using the ground in transition, but keep in mind that you cannot move your pressure efficiently later in the swing if it’s not moving correctly before that. If you want to start bombing it and increasing your club speed, these are great concepts to begin with!
