In memory of Vernon Handley 1930 - 2008. The beautiful Romanza from Ralph Vaughan Williams 5th Symphony. RVW conducted the premier in June 1943 at a Royal Albert Hall Prom. One of the greatest symphonies of the 20th century. This recording, performed by Vernon Handley and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 1986, was awarded BPI best classical recording award in 1988.
