Army captures two massive terrorist camps located on the main Oddusudan-Pudukudiyirippu Road 23/01/2009

The Army has captured two massive terrorist camps located on the main Oddusudan-Pudukudiyirippu Road the Security Forces seized two LTTE camps, a cab, a land cruiser jeep, two water bowzers and many other implements South of Pudukudiyirippu. The troops of the 4th Vijayaba Infantry Regiment led by the 592nd Brigade under the guidance of Lt. Colonel Manisha Silva and commanded by Brigadier Nandana Udawatte of the 59th Division achieved these successes. The first camp was sited within the thick jungles, East of the Oddusudan-Pudukuduyirippu Road. It had a specially built entrance with enhanced facilities. There was a deep trench surrounding the camp and fortified with underground bunkers. The 14th Vijayaba Regiment seized the 2nd camp with vehicles West of the Oddusudan-Pudukuddiyiruppu Main Road. The Air Force supported the infantry troops. A large area of the camp compound had been damaged by Kafir jets.
