Ronald Davis shooting breakdown - St. Paul, MN HD

MINNEAPOLIS - In a show of transparency, St. Paul police released body camera footage Tuesday of the fatal shooting of Ronald Davis. The minute-long video graphically depicts what police had said about the Sept. 15 shooting — that Davis, 31, crashed into the back of a marked squad car and charged officer Steven Mattson with a knife. Mattson had just stopped at this intersection of Thomas and Griggs when he was suddenly struck from behind. Mattson’s body worn camera shows the jolt. He opens his door and is immediately met by the driver, charging with a knife in his right hand. In the video, Mattson shoots Davis after screaming, “Drop the knife, drop the knife.” When he continues to come at Mattson, the officer fires several rounds.
