Rhodes Greece is AMAZING!! Acropolis of Lindos and Medieval City of Rhodes - Three Continent Cruise HD

10.03.2020
Yay, we were able to recover our footage!!! Today we are on the island of Rhodes, Greece and it is a rainy dreary day… but the weather is on our side in that as soon as we arrive at the Village of Lindos, the rain stops… just for us! We begin the walk to the top of the Acropolis. This is the second largest Acropolis in Greece only behind Athens and was also built for the goddess Athena. It is a long trek to the top, but so worth it! The view from the top is just amazing. In ancient times, they chose the highest point of land as a lookout post and from here they could see miles and miles out into the Mediterranean for any ships that would be approaching. Rhodes was also very centrally located as being a center point between Athens, Egypt and Israel. Did I mention that it is very windy at the top… well ‘windy’ is an understatement as we were almost knocked over by the force of the winds and it would literally take your breath away if you tried to talk into the wind. But wow, what an experience! The weather held off until the minute we reboarded the buses as it started to rain and a beautiful rainbow appeared. Next we went for an evening stroll through the Medieval City of Rhodes. I wish we would have had more time here as it was fascinating to walk through this ancient walled city that still has inhabited. Then back onto the ship… Please SUBSCRIBE, Comment, Like, Share & Follow! Get to know our family and come along with us on our vacations...
