No, as the HB App collects the data from the HypoBand it needs to be paired to a smartphone. The HypoBand will beep on a low, and the paired smartphone can be set to Local Alarm to advise the wearer. 5) What support is there if it becomes faulty? We are here to help with all the support of the HypoBand and to ensure the HypoBand activates correctly. 6) Does the phones have to be within 10 meters like with a hypo, for the panic system to work too? Yes the HypoBand and the paired smartphone need to be within a range of 10 meters of each other and with no obstacles. 7) Do you do any other colours that are compatible with the iphone? The colour of the HypoBand in the foreseeable future will be black. 8) If you don’t, do you have plans to (am happy to wait a little longer if need be). No plans to date. 9) Are you planning a new version any time soon? No new versions scheduled for the next one year. 10) Is the wrist strap universal or do we order a child size then progress to adults? The smallest eyelet on the HypoBand has a circumference of 12 cm. A £2 coin circumference is 9 cm. 11) What is the average life-span of a hypo band? 5 years for the battery 12) Do we have to pay an annual charge to maintain the hypo band or can it be used out of the app once the initial 12 months are up? No further charge or annual charge planned. 13) Do you offer insurance, for if it gets wet/smashed etc? Yes as the HB App has a manual threshold that can be adjusted to detect a cold sweat / low. 15) Is it anything below 4.0mmol or do we have to take his temp when he does go low and then notify you so you can set that as his limits?
