Dear Comena, Thank you. For everything. You were there for me through thick and thin. You made me laugh. Made me cry. You’ve taught me everything. How to fall. How to succeed. I miss you so much. I would trade anything to have you back with me. You’ve changed me. Not only as a rider, but as an overall person. You brought so much hope and love into my life that I can never forget. You were there when nobody else was. You were the one I could turn to for my problems. When I was around you, I felt nothing other than pure happiness and joy. It’s hard to find anything close to that feeling without you here. I just want you to know that I will always love you, and nothing can change that. You will forever have a piece of my heart. *** I leased Comena from February 15, 2014 until September 30, 2015. Leasing her was one of the best decisions I have ever made. This horse taught me everything I know today, and I am so lucky I was able to have her in my life. She brought me through the jumpers, and told me how to succeed each step of the way. She was patient as I learned to care for my own horse, and was especially patient as I went through the crazy matching saddle pad, polo, and bonnet phase. *** It has been almost 6 months without Comena, and still this video was hard to complete. I apologize for how long this took, but this was a very hard project to work on. It was a very emotional time, and even now looking back at these clips can make me tear up. *** Comena is currently being leased out at her owner’s barn, Windfall Farms. She is doing what she loves, and is currently competing up to the .85m with her new rider. Grandma’s still got the fire in her. I hope this coming show season I will be lucky enough to spot her at a show.
