Baked Goods — "Uptight" (Official Video) HD
Lyrics: I’ve been too uptight Everybody’s saying that I’ve seen a certain light But I’m content with what I see And what is don’t bother me I suppose to some it’s just the sun Nurses rush in everyday to tell me everything’s going to Be okay I’m not really sure what the fuss is for. It’s time for my sedation An alphabet soup of their creation Turns my colors to a bore. I’ve been too unwell. I keep searching for something I need to think up a spell. To remedy my condition The plot forever thickens Sometimes I’m not sure if I’m alive. So won’t you help me out? ‘Cause I don’t understand The way your world works. And I don’t believe All these people on the TV They’re lying to me Trying to sell me a reason to breathe. And we’re all dust and we’ll always be until We cease to be us. Maybe I’m just too blind to see Today is yesterday’s tomorrow And tomorrow always seems to far away So why the hurry? If we’re all just out of time We can sit and laugh together on our way to the other side So won’t you help me out? ‘Cause I don’t understand The way your world works. And I don’t believe All these people on the TV They’re lying to me Trying to sell me a reason to breathe. And we’re all dust and we’ll always be until We cease to be us. Maybe I’m just… I’ve been too uptight But I’m starting to realize there never was a light Just something to pretend we’re all not so alone in the end I guess they’re too blind to see That it’s them. About the band and their new EP, A Vivid Hallucination: Baked Goods is a 5-piece band out of New York formed in 2011. Their combination of jazz, funk, and rock and roll is a recipe for a unique sound that Baked Goods delivers in each song. During the summer of 2016, the band headed back into Cove City Sound Studios—where they made One of Those Things, their debut which premiered at #2 on the Relix/Jambands chart—to cut a new record with their engineer, James Meslin (Dream Theater), and the guide of their dear friend saxophonist Richie Cannata (Billy Joel, Bernie Williams). A Vivid Hallucination is a sonic journey that accentuates a slight separation from reality, whether that be through anxiety, mental illness, or whimsical daydreaming. Each of these songs focus on the voices both inside one’s head and outside. The lyrics and orchestrations attempt to capture the innate contradictions of mental health issues and present them in a way that the listener can feel, wrestle with, and enjoy. Led by booming drums and a captivating saxophone, Baked Goo
