Urgent Care Clinics Overprescribing Antibiotics HD

A recent study found that urgent care clinics are over-prescribing antibiotics on a massive scale. The study found that nearly half of all patients who go to urgent care seeking treatment for cold and flu symptoms are being prescribed antibiotics, this is three times the amount for patients who seek treatment for the same symptoms at a traditional doctor’s office. When over-prescribed, antibiotics become less effective at treating life-threatening illness and could lead to a major health crisis. RT America’s Sara Montes De Oca reports.
