"The conspiracy of the doomed" - film by Mikhail Kalatazov after the same-called play of Nikolay Virta. In some East European country, which had just been liberated by the Soviet Red Army of Nazism, there emerges a new conspiracy against the people of this country. The US Embassador McHill is going to turn the independent country into another "49th US state". He becomes the inspirator, organizer and the centre of a group of conspirators. The group of conspirators includes some high-ranked members of the government and public politicians - Minister of Agriculture - Christina Padera, Minister of Industry and the leader of Catholic Party - Hugo Vastis, leader of Social-Democrats, minister of social security, and later the head of the parliament - Joachim Pino, as well as an agent of Vatican - Cardinal Birnch and the agent of US imperialism, a journalist from Chicago - Kyra Reachell. McHill and Padera are trying to organize the economic blocade in the country in order to simulate the food-supply aid supposedly coming from the USA, to put the guilt of the starvation in the country at the USSR, - and for this aim they act in collusion with Titoist leadership of neighbouring Yugoslavia. After failure of voting at Parliament session, where the Nationalist Party, Catholic Party and right-wing Social-Democrats have all stood in support of "Marshall Plan", while the Communist Party, the Peasants Party and left-wing Social-Democrats in alliance with masses of people, which filled the square at the houses of the Parliament, - McHill tries to organize the military intervention from the south of the country, performed by forces of Titoist traitors in alliance with the USA and Britain. The US Embassador is already congratulating the officers in the US Embassy with the "great organization of the coup" However, the COmmunist Party activists (including, - Nikola Slaveno, Hanna Lichta, Maks Venta) in alliance with the left-wing Social-Democrats (Mark Pino) and representatives of Peasants Union (Kosta Varra), and, most important, together with broad masses of labours (workers, peasants, World War 2 veterans and partizans) - easily manage to form a broad Resistance movement and to liquidate the right-wing coup! The coup is suppressed, the traitors of their own people are arrested, as well as the Cardinal and the US CIA agent Kyra Reachell. McHill is banished from the country! Communists take control of the government. But, what is more important - the delegation of the Communist Party in Moscow signs a treaty on Friendship and mutual aid with the Soviet Union, having found in the eastern neighbour the only ally in the struggle with the imperialists and provocators of war! "Dear brothers and sisters!" - starts his speech at the Parliament and at the people - Slaveno - the Communist Party leader. And goes on, - "We received help from Generalissimus Stalin!".
