WW1-WW2 Nazi Relic Welding Repair part 1 HD
This is a repair I did a few years back, being something of historical importance even if it is a bad side of history. The Fella that wanted this repaired had a limited budget and could not afford a professional historic restoration so he asked me to just weld it back together to so it could go back in his display. I considered a few options when it came to welding this back together, first of which was to use mig and cast iron wire. This turned out to be not a viable option due to cast iron mig wire cost £650 for a small roll. The second option was to use cast iron stick rods at £6 for two of eBay and after purchasing I decided not to use them due to various week points I deemed a high risk of blowing through. The final option I chose was to use mild steel mig wire after being recommended to use it from welding supplies direct which I highly recommend. The repair cost I charged £20 for this repair with a gurentee on repairing it again should the weld fail due to welding dissimilar materials and only needed to weld the back due to the design on the front. The fact that I couldnt get any material information on the content of metals on the memorabilia ment I was a try and see how it goes.
