UWC Dilijan College HD
In 2014, the international boarding school UWC Dilijan College opened in Dilijan, Armenia – the first academic institution in Eastern Europe and the CIS to join the UWC network founded in 1962 in the United Kingdom. This unique project, initiated by entrepreneurs and philanthropists Ruben Vardanyan and Veronika Zonabend and enjoyed the support of over 200 donors from different countries, brings a new region to the world educational map. The UWC Dilijan opened for the IB Diploma Years (16+) and has an international body of students from 63 different countries. IB Diploma admissions are organised via UWC national committees in students’ countries of origin. After the end of the first year the students decided to share their impressions on the college, Dilijan and Armenia in a small film. “What is it like to study in one of the world’s prestigious schools? What is this country – Armenia? What do you gain from communicating with peers from different countries and life in a multicultural environment?” Answering these questions and more are the students themselves – the college’s pioneers.
