ESP8266 + painlessMesh + Kivy HD

09.09.2017
Hello again! In this video I try a different approach - Mesh networking. The benefits of Meshing, if your not aware, is the ability to have a self-supporting network without a central Access Point. It also has the advantage of connecting devices far away from each other by using other nodes on the network as repeaters. The meshing is provided by a great library called panlessMesh, a fork of easyMesh. Links to the source are here. The hardware is, of course, an ESP8266 (ESP-01 variant). The software on the ESP side is the Arduino IDE with ESP8266 libraries. On the Laptop I am using Visual Studio with Python and of course the Kivy library to display the UI. Ultimately the plan is to create a simple but reliable mesh network with RaspberryPi frontend via Kivy. This video is more a proof of concept and i will follow up with subsequent videos as the project continues. Thanks as always, please comment, like and subscribe! Anthony
