Surviving with an Iron Lung

Dennis was able to stay out of the Iron Lung for several hours during the day and got around in an electric wheelchair. He was able to breath by pushing air into his lungs using muscles that were not paralyzed. (throat and shoulder if memory serves) He needed the Iron Lung to stay alive while he was asleep or when he got tired. He was a smart guy with a lively sense of humor. He passed away in December of 2012 at the age of 66.
