Seat Leon Cupra ST 280 DSG vs Cupra 280 DSG - Nordschleife Touristenfahrten 28.6.15 HD
During the process of choosing a new family car I borrowed a Cupra Estate and took it to Nordschleife. Car was great, but I felt the front axle geometry would need more negative camber to actually work there. On roads it feels great though. Car had optional Brembo brakes and Continental ContiSportContact 5P tyres. Those are good for road, but definitelly bad for a track as they are bloody unstable in high speeds. By a chance I met another 5D Cupra and we made two laps together. The other car was on standard Potenzas and it looked more stable and faster in corners. It pulled a little better too. ST version, on the other hand, has more lively rear axle and can be adjusted in the corners using brakes and throttle.
