The "Basic CPU" implemented in an Altera Cyclone IV FPGA

30.12.2011
This is the Basic CPU from Morris Mano implemented in an Altera DE0-nano FPGA board. It has a 4x4 keyboard matrix as input, a stepper motor, a 2x8 LCD and also a DS18B20 one-wire temperature sensor. The CPU controls the speed of the motor based in the keyboard input key. The CPU is working @ 125 MHz with an internal PLL (main clock is 50 MHz) Total of resources used: Total logic elements: 1,980 / 22,320 ( 9 % ) Total registers: 1240 Total PLLs: 1 / 4 ( 25 % ) I also have implemented the same project into the Spartan 3E FPGA board from digilent.
